Monthly Recap: October 2017

November is in full swing!

Can you believe it? It’s all about giving thanks this month so I wanted to give thanks to YOU first!

Thank you for allowing me to show up in your inbox each month. Thanks for allowing me to share my stories and journey with you.

Starting this month, I’m changing it up a bit! Each new month, I’ll do a recap and it’ll include latest projects that I’m working on, book recommendations, accomplishments, not-so-fabulous moments, lessons, health & wellness update, favorite podcasts and things that I’m grateful for.

So here we go!

October Reflection

Accomplishments:
– I went to the MN Blogger Conference and took pages of notes (learning is easy when you’re super hyped about the subject lol)
– I went to an local business event hosted by IMPACT Mankato to be a guest panelist!
– Spent time with family and some friends that I haven’t seen in a long time over one weekend.
– Finalized my internship next semester at Verizon Wireless 😀
– Filmed and edited footage for my soon-to-be live Youtube channel! (It’s launching November 12th! eeeek!)
Side note: I’m really excited to use this platform to connect with you on a whole new level. Get ready for vegan recipes, semi decent vlogs, and a whole lot of talks about health, holistic wellness and conscious living!

Health Update:
Okay, I haven’t talked about this ANYWHERE but currently at the moment I am in the process of getting a diagnosis for PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Ugh. It’s a bit of a touchy subject to me because it’s so so personal but it’s a hormonal issue that 1/8 women face. Long story short, I learned about that PCOS was a thing about maybe two months ago. I came across Youtube some videos and the symptoms the ladies were describing clicked with what I’ve been dealing with for the past 2-3 years (acne, weight gain, anxiety, moodiness, the list goes on). While I feel like it’s not severe on my end since I do my best to take care of my wellness, it’s still something I have to address. Most women with PCOS are more susceptible to certain cancers, obesity and diabetes. I don’t have a clear diagnosis yet, I’m still talking to doctors but in a few weeks, I hope to find answer after some ultrasound testings. If you know or have this, let’s get in touch! I really want to get involved in this topic!

Not-So-Fabulous Moments:
– I had a few moments this month where I felt really overwhelmed because I simply added too much on my to do list.
– Myles and I had a few rough patches this month because we were not communicating heart to heart on a regular basis.

Lessons:
– Understanding that my to do list is NOT my identity.
– Setting aside a few minutes with your partner at night to have meaningful conversation is so worthwhile.
– It’s okay to slow down and rest.

Podcasts that I’m lovin:
– The Influencer Podcast with Julie Solomon
– Food Blogger Pro
– Entrepreneur Before 25

Book Recommendations:
-You Are a Badass
-Woman Code (book about women hormonal health! so good!)
– Real Artist Don’t Starve

Things I’m grateful for:
– The amazing friends I’ve met online and off
– My focus on my work and projects
– The stability of my days, I’m really lovin the daily routines that I’ve established.

I hope this will inspire you to reflect at the end of each month and use the resources I mention to jump start your new month!

Please let me know how I can support and uplift you!

semi decent blogs and ultrasounds,

Bella
